Felling Trailers Showcases New Air Bi-Fold Ramps at CONEXPO-CON/AGG

CONEXPO-CON/AGG international exhibition is known for being the host to companies debuting new products to their industry partners. Felling Trailers, Inc. will follow suit, introducing their new patented (U.S. Patent 11,613,197) Air Bi-fold Ramps at this year’s show. The Air Bi-Fold Ramp system is featured on Felling’s 25-ton FT-50-3 LP, a tri-axle low-profile flatbed tag trailer, amongst new features for the FT-16 IT-I industrial tilt and an FT-50-3 LP tag trailer.

Felling’s Unique Functions of the Air Bi-Fold Ramps

Few manufacturers in the marketplace offer an Air Bi-Fold Ramp system, let alone with the functionality that Felling’s offers. A key feature of Felling’s design is in the operation of the flip ramp. The flip ramp locks out fully when extending preventing scraping or marring of the ground, which is undesirable, especially if it’s a new surface of any kind. Another key feature is Felling’ controlled flow air ramp technology which provides for soft ground contact of the ramp, keeping new surfaces free from being damaged.

The Air Bi-Fold Ramps are 45″ wide by 11′ (7.5′ +3.5′) wood inlaid. For close to a decade, Felling Trailers has offered air ramps with available lengths of 6’ to 8’. The 11’ Air Bi-Fold ramps were designed to accommodate the load angle necessary when loading cumbersome low-clearance equipment such as paving equipment and directional drills. The Air Bi-Fold ramps’ length provides the operator with a gentler, more gradual incline to provide ease in loading/unloading with its 9.5º load angle with the option of air ride suspension when the air is dropped. Felling Trailers’ Air-Ramp technology allows operators to use the tow vehicles’ onboard air system to power the ramps, eliminating the maintenance of an onboard electric/hydraulic system. Furthermore, the patent-pending technology allows for minimal ground contact when deploying/retracting the ramps to reduce damage to new pavement when loading/unloading.

  1. Frederick Palmieri says

On the ft 50 what is the length from pindle hitch hookup to center of forward lift axle on trailer ? In ct we need 52 ft from front axle on truck to front axle on trailer for 80.000 ! My truck is 26 ft from front axle to pindle hook

    • Good Morning Fredrick,
Can you provide us with the desired hitch length, main deck length, and axle spread you are looking for? This will help us determine the trailer that would work best.

      Thank you
      Felling Trailers

  2. Fred Palmieri says

    Can u please send me a brosure on your F-T 50 3 L T ? Frederick Palmieri 1142 new haven ave Milford ct 06460 thank you .

  3. On the t 50 3 LT the ramps are 45 inches wide can the ramps be 50 wide ? Will that effect the air ramp lifting system? Just basically I don’t want a big gap between ramps 2 inches is fine

  4. Gregg Corcoran says

We just too delivery of a new FT-50, and plan on hauling it with a single axle T-300 Kenworth, with a GVW of 33,000,we want to be sure we have enough truck for the task, your thoughts?

    • Good afternoon Gregg,
I don’t know trucks. You will want to reach out to your truck dealer for this information. On speculation, I think a fully loaded FT-50-3LP could result in an overloaded truck axle if you are transferring the recommended 20% of the gross trailer weight to the truck.

      Hope this helps,
      Felling Tralers

  5. The FT-50-3 TA has a capacity of 50,000 lbs. Does the 50,000 lbs account for the tongue weight that the truck carries? For instant can the trailer carry 50,000 lbs and the truck via the tongue weight carry 10,000 lbs for a total capacity of 60,000 lbs?

    • Good morning Jim,
Yes, the trailer is rated for 50,000 lbs. distributed across the entire deck of the trailer with approximately an additional 20% (10,000 lbs.) transferred to the tow vehicle. Keep in mind, you’ll need to take in to consideration local, state, and federal weight restrictions.

      Hope this helps,
      Felling Trailers
