Grow with Us: The People of Felling - Kristie Moritz

As Felling celebrates 45 years of manufacturing trailers, we continue to look back and see how much our company, along with our employees, have grown. Many of you may already know the story of how Felling Trailers started as a small fabrication shop in downtown Sauk Centre in 1974. Continuing to add to this story, we invite you to read our “Grow with Us Series – 5.” Here you will meet the people of Felling; we will share a bit about the people that have played a part in what our company is today and where we will be tomorrow. Some of the people you will meet have been with us for many years, some decades, and then others are just starting their careers with us. To continue our series, we would like you to meet Kristie Moritz, the Scheduling Coordinator for Felling Trailers, Inc., Sauk Centre.

Kristie Moritz
Scheduling Coordinator at Felling Trailers

Kristie Moritz - Office Careers at Felling Trailers Sauk CentreName: Kristie Moritz
Status: 7 years
Title: Scheduling Coordinator

Kristie joined the Felling Trailer’s Team in the winter of 2012 as a Receptionist, she held this position for a little over a year, then had the opportunity to transition to the Accounts Receivable position. In this position, Kristie processed invoices for completed trailers along with receiving and processing of payments to accounts. In addition to these duties, she also reviewed trailer documentation and compared to the bill of materials to ensure there were no discrepancies. Once all checkpoints of a trailer’s paperwork were completed, she would then issue the serial number and generate the Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO) for trailers to be shipped.

Moving on to Scheduling Coordinator

In 2015, just three short years after joining the company, Kristie had the opportunity to move into the role of Scheduling Coordinator. “I was ready for a new challenge, I wanted to grow within the company, and I felt this was my next step,” said Kristie. This move gave Kristie a new perspective on the build process of a Felling trailer. In her previous position, she was one of the last touchpoints of a trailer’s build process to completion. In Scheduling, she was now one of the first. In this department, Kristie along with other scheduling team members work together with the sales, purchasing, engineering and production teams. From creating the bill of materials to scheduling build slots for trailers, and assessing the labor needed to complete a trailer build.

“I was ready for a new challenge, I wanted to grow within the company, and I felt this was my next step.”

Benefits of Working for a Family-Owned Business

When asked why Kristie chose Felling to be where she worked, she said, “I really like that Felling Trailers is family-owned. Felling Trailers is willing to work with you, and they are really understanding, I have a small child so unexpected things come up where I need to be with him.”  In Kristie’s seven years with the company it has grown a lot, “We’ve added many new faces and of course the new office building,” said Kristie. Felling’s office staff moved into the new corporate office in early March of 2019, bringing all departments back under one roof. We a glad to have Kristie as part of our team, thank you, Kristie!
