Jordan Bruggenthies, Paint & Blast Team Night Shift

Felling Team Member Jordan Bruggenthies

Name: Jordan Bruggenthies
Status: 10 Years
Title: Paint & Blast Team Night Shift

Jordan joined the Felling Trailers team in February of 2011 as an interim team member through the Work Connection, then was offered a full-time position with Felling in May of that year. Jordan chose Felling as his place to work when he was in high school, working full-time. Felling Trailers offers multiple work schedules to fit a team member’s life needs; days, nights, weekends, along with part-time and flex shifts for high school and college students. Jordan has been a part of the paint team from day one of joining the company. As part of the Paint team, there are many things to learn in the steps before and after paint. New members may have little to no paint experience; Felling provides an on-the-job training environment where new members will shadow a senior painter for a set training period. “We have painters with many years of experience and knowledge, and a willingness to share that knowledge,” said Bob Toews, Felling Trailers’ Paint Team Supervisor.

“I do just about everything in the paint department. I’m a painter, blaster, striper, touch-up guy, maintenance, I’ve been paint lead, and I’ve even worked in project weld (not part of the paint department).”

Creating the Perfect Finish

As part of the paint team, Jordan is responsible for preparing and maintaining the paint system and equipment, along with the pre-paint prep of trailers and parts. Before any paint can be applied, the trailer and/or parts are steel grit blasted to remove rust and contaminants. After the steel has been prepared, the primer and paint are applied. Once painted, the trailers/parts are moved to the Drying room, where the paint curFelling Painters in Paint Booth painting traileres and decals are applied. “I do just about everything in the paint department. I’m a painter, blaster, striper, touch-up guy, maintenance, I’ve been paint lead, and I’ve even worked in project weld (not part of the paint department), “said Jordan. “When I switched to lead guy, it was because I wanted to better myself, and Felling gave me the opportunity to give it a shot.” Having a night shift paint crew helps keep a continuous production flow and maintain a good paint backlog.

Through his time here at Felling, Jordan has seen and been part of the company’s growth. “We’ve built a couple of new buildings and added a new plant (Litchfield facility),” said Jordan. Jordan and his night shift team members play a big part in keeping the production flow of the company moving. There is always an open communication line between shifts, no matter if it is days, nights, or weekend shifts, which helps prioritize the workflow and get jobs completed in a timely manner. We are glad to have Jordan as part of our team. Thank you, Jordan!
