Grow With Us: The People of Felling, Mauricio “Jr” Pérez, Parts & Service Associate/Asociado de repuestos y servicios

Mauricio “Jr” joined the Felling Trailers team in the winter of 2017 and will celebrate six years with the company this December. Jr attended Melrose High School, a short distance from Felling Trailer’s manufacturing facility in Sauk Centre, and knew of job opportunities there. He was hired as part of the Paint and Blast team and went through paint and blast training. Felling provides training to all new employees, no matter the department they are placed in. In the Paint department, many team members have little to no painting experience. They are paired with senior painters and will shadow them for 1-2 weeks. As part of the paint department team, Jr was responsible for preparing and maintaining the paint system and equipment, along with the pre-paint preparation of trailers and parts before being painted. Felling Trailers are touted as having one of the best paint jobs in the industry, thanks in part to our highly skilled Paint Team. The Paint Team preps trailers and parts by steel grit, blasting them to remove rust and contaminants; next, they apply primer and paint. Once painted, the trailers/parts are moved to the Drying room, where the paint cures and decals are applied.

Taking on a New Role

Jr worked as part of the Paint team until January of 2022 when the opportunity to transition to the Parts & Service team became available.

As a Parts and Service Associate, Jr’s day includes working with dealers and walk-in customers, handling their trailer parts and service needs, processes orders received through the online parts web store (store.felling.com), along with answering customer’s “chat” requests from the online store. On the service side, he prepares estimates for repairs and coordinates the service and repair of trailers. Jr is also one of Felling’s bi-lingual team members, which is a big help in handling parts and service needs for our Latino customers. He also assists Felling’s Human Resources team by utilizing his bilingual skills to provide translation for team members.

When asked why Jr chose Felling to be where he worked, he said, “I really enjoy the people I work with. Not everybody can say that about where they work.” Since Jr joined the Felling Trailer’s team nearly 6-years ago, he has seen and been a part of much of the company’s growth. The Parts and Service department has been renovated from a single parts counter to an entire retail trailer parts store with product displays and more. “Besides the big changes in the parts department, we have added two new buildings since I started in 2017,” said Jr. We are glad to have Jr as part of our team. Una vez pintados, los remolques/piezas se trasladan a la sala de secado, donde se cura la pintura y se aplican las calcomanías.

Asumiendo un nuevo rol

Jr trabajó como parte del equipo de Pintura hasta enero de 2022, cuando estuvo disponible la oportunidad de hacer la transición al equipo de Piezas y Servicio.

Como asociado de repuestos y servicios, el día de Jr incluye trabajar con distribuidores y clientes sin cita previa, manipulando su remolque. necesidades de repuestos y servicios, procesa los pedidos recibidos a través de la tienda web de repuestos en línea (store.felling.com), además de responder la solicitud de “chat” del cliente desde la tienda en línea. En cuanto al servicio, preparó presupuestos para reparaciones y coordinó el servicio y reparación de remolques. Jr también es uno de los miembros bilingües del equipo de Felling, lo que es de gran ayuda en el manejo de las necesidades de repuestos y servicios de nuestros clientes latinos. También ayuda al equipo de Recursos Humanos de Felling utilizando sus habilidades bilingües para proporcionar traducción a los miembros del equipo.

Cuando se le preguntó por qué Jr eligió Felling para trabajar, dijo: “Realmente disfruto de la gente con la que trabajo. No todos pueden decir lo mismo sobre el lugar donde trabajan”. Desde que Jr se unió a Felling Trailers hace casi 6 años, ha visto y ha sido parte de gran parte del crecimiento de la empresa. El departamento de repuestos y servicios ha sido renovado desde un único mostrador de repuestos hasta una tienda minorista completa de repuestos para remolques con exhibidores de productos y más. “Además de los grandes cambios en el departamento de repuestos, hemos agregado dos nuevos edificios desde que comencé en 2017”, dijo Jr. Estamos contentos de tener a Jr como parte de nuestro equipo. ¡Gracias, jr!
