Felling Trailers has been proudly manufacturing trailers for nearly 50 years. Join us as we take a look back and see how much our company, along with our employees, has grown. Many of you may already know the story of how Felling Trailers started as a small fabrication shop in downtown Sauk Centre in 1974. Continuing to add to this story, we invite you to read our “Grow with Us Series – 33.” Here, you will meet the people of Felling; we will share a bit about the people who have played a part in what our company is today and where we will be tomorrow. Some people you will meet have been with us for many years, some decades, and others are starting their careers. We want you to meet Mauricio “Jr” Pérez, Parts & Service Associate for Felling Trailers, Inc., Sauk Centre, to continue our series.

Mauricio “Jr” joined the Felling Trailers team in the winter of 2017 and will celebrate six years with the company this December. Jr attended Melrose High School, a short distance from Felling Trailer’s manufacturing facility in Sauk Centre, and knew of job opportunities there. He was hired as part of the Paint and Blast team and went through paint and blast training. Felling provides training to all new employees, no matter the department they are placed in. In the Paint department, many team members have little to no painting experience. They are paired with senior painters and will shadow them for 1-2 weeks. As part of the paint department team, Jr was responsible for preparing and maintaining the paint system and equipment, along with the pre-paint preparation of trailers and parts before being painted. Felling Trailers are touted as having one of the best paint jobs in the industry, thanks in part to our highly skilled Paint Team. The Paint Team preps trailers and parts by steel grit, blasting them to remove rust and contaminants; next, they apply primer and paint. Once painted, the trailers/parts are moved to the Drying room, where the paint cures and decals are applied.
Taking on a New Role
Jr worked as part of the Paint team until January of 2022 when the opportunity to transition to the Parts & Service team became available.

As a Parts and Service Associate, Jr’s day includes working with dealers and walk-in customers, handling their trailer parts and service needs, processes orders received through the online parts web store (store.felling.com), along with answering customer’s “chat” requests from the online store. On the service side, he prepares estimates for repairs and coordinates the service and repair of trailers. Jr is also one of Felling’s bi-lingual team members, which is a big help in handling parts and service needs for our Latino customers. He also assists Felling’s Human Resources team by utilizing his bilingual skills to provide translation for team members.
When asked why Jr chose Felling to be where he worked, he said, “I really enjoy the people I work with. Not everybody can say that about where they work.” Since Jr joined the Felling Trailer’s team nearly 6-years ago, he has seen and been a part of much of the company’s growth. The Parts and Service department has been renovated from a single parts counter to an entire retail trailer parts store with product displays and more. “Besides the big changes in the parts department, we have added two new buildings since I started in 2017,” said Jr. We are glad to have Jr as part of our team. Mauricio “Jr” se unió al equipo de Felling Trailers en el invierno de 2017 y celebrará seis años con la empresa en diciembre. Jr asistió a Melrose High School, a poca distancia de las instalaciones de fabricación de Felling Trailers en Sauk Centre, y conocía las oportunidades laborales allí. Fue contratado como parte del equipo de pintura. Felling brinda capacitación a todos los empleados nuevos, sin importar el departamento en el que se encuentren. Asumiendo un nuevo rol
